I like the melody at the beginning, even if it is a bit awkward, but then the drums kick in and it sounds pretty well on low volume, but even turning it up a bit shows maybe compress the drums a bit less, or turn down their volume(or my headphones are just ass). The guitar rhythm stays and makes an amazing feel on the song!
Then it’s transitioned to the cute synth melody, I also love how it progresses more and more as the section goes on. Then it transitions to a different melody with breakbeat drums rhythm, which I like. Then it heads back to possibly my favorite rhythm in the song. Then the song basically restarts except for the strange hi-hats loop at 2:57, although good for variety, it doesn’t really fit well compared. Then the last section is a higher pitch version of the last melody like it.
The biggest problem here by FAR is the transitioning, crash, splash, and even ride cymbals sometimes can really help with transitioning, I like using a reversed cymbal and then a crashing one, and both cymbals are panned to a different side, so both ears get the enjoyment. A friend of mine who’s a really good critic made the analogy of books, you want to make the song one whole story, not a bunch of stories. Other problems do really include certain use of the right instruments, such as the strange hi-hats I mentioned earlier.
On the other hand, the parts at both 0:14 and 1:58 are INSANELY ADDICTIVE! I am also a fan of the Melodie’s, but the bass you used is absolutely PRISTINE! Perfectly compressed and mixed! The drums are also in someway really good, just needs less compression!
Keep it up my dude! Good work here!
