Such a happy tune, makes me wanna hug a penguin <3

I also love the art by @chocoholicmonkey! He did real good with this one. Due to my device I can’t play the game, but if I ever get the chance, I definitely will!

It’s too repetitive man :(… that’s a joke I saw the tags lol XD

AGAIN! Fantastic use in orchestral, only real critique I have is maybe turn down the velocity of the drums a little. Definitely my fave in the entire collection of PvZ you made, though they don’t really remind me of it, maybe cause I never really played it.
Orchestral work is crazy good, melodies are overall really good, very few times I actually found it weird or repetitive. Mixing is pristine, and leveling is pretty nice, all the songs are just a pure vibe as well! Only problem I see is it doesn’t sound like PVZ, but again, that could just be me so I won’t count it as any real “critique”.
For the whole collection! I give you 9.7/10
Beautifully made, and I know you’ll get popular here if you keep going! Say, I’ll help you a lil, by shouting you out for frontpage! Hope you keep going dude, this is good stuff!
Keep Forth, Artch :D

Gl1tchMe responds:

About PvZ inspiration, I DID go off track here, to the point where even I barely see it myself, so yeah. Also, thanks for the shoutout and reviews, I will try to learn from them!

Love your violin and guitar use, pizzicato is a bit cliche at the start, but that’s literally the only area where it doesn’t sound amazing (it still sounds pretty well, just needed a better melody or some tuning). Really awesome work man! I love the orchestral use!

Very neat music! It’s very soothing!

For a so called “beginner” judging by your description, this is really good! Only problem I can see is this one part, 1:08 is a bit sudden and the kicks are weird at first, but get better as it starts getting more of a violin melody. Nice work man! Love this! And it does sorta remind me of plants vs zombies when it comes to the piano melody.

Gl1tchMe responds:

Thanks a lot! And yes, I definitely could make the transition to 1:08 less sudden

@G2961, I think your windows series has got some competition.

THIS SHIT GO CRAZY FOR REAL! AND IVE SEEN BEAT MADE OUT OF EATING CHIPS AND PENCIL SCRIBBLES! Love the distort bass and the all the slight details made of it!
I guess maybe the bass is too loud, and a lot of the song seems panned too much to the left, and mixing could be improved at 1:45.
Melody and idea is 👌. Drums are great fr. And congrats on the frontpage!
Oh, and I’m talking about FOR REAL (Why is that sample so good tho yet so goofy XD)

Symtu responds:

Appreciate the review even tho it confuses me a bit :v This beat was a joke so im lowkey lucky it blew up lol. Btw FOR REAL is my prod. tag and its from a meme, reffering to: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/sD0PSvteZ_U This was made in 25 mins btw, wish i took more time on it v-v. Thanks for sharing what u think tho, im a fan yk

Behind all the distortion noise and lack of mixing, lies a really good song beneath. It does genuinely sound good, it just needs to be better mixed… or is this just a song you made that is suppose to have that distorted sound to it lol

neppium responds:

distortion is part of this subgenre
about mixing: it really depends on your headphones cause for me with 100$+ headset it sounds good or maybe it's just me

This is judging by what I think you were aiming for… ambient music is tough to review with a lack of context, so correct me if I’m mistaken!

You don’t exactly want to make anything too hard hitting in an ambient track like this, maybe add less compression or decline the velocity of the percussion at the start of the track, which becomes flawed around 0:10. I would’ve sound much better if it stayed at the same attack level as 0:07. I love the use of atmosphere and the way synth is used in this. The sudden bass hits also fit well with the entirety of the atmosphere, at 1:03 it gets a bit too much of a hopeful pad added into the mix, you want to have the song stay dark. Sorry for jumping, but at 0:23 it’s also a bit minimal, even for an ambient song, maybe add something louder, like those bass hits, but less serious.
Definitely not bad for only a week of experience, a lot better then what I was doing with only a weeks experience. But I get the image of being in a sort of chamber, you know sorta like the ones in the matrix, and it’s just the camera zooming into it, revealing the horrors of the unconscious victims of… something… aliens perhaps. ovo
Nice work man! Hope you keep it up, and please tell me if you meant to do something intentionally here, I’m just going by my own aesthetics of an ambient track. I’ll even change the rating if you can describe what you were going for.
Other then that, have a nice night and keep forth!

ArcaneDynamo responds:

Thanks man! I appreciate the feedback, and i’ll definitely use this when i make things in the future!

Kicks are a bit on the loud side… and is a bit too much, and it sounds like one of the “It’s not my first, but I’m still beginning” songs… if you get that. The kicks are the main focus of the song, sometimes I actually ignore the melody because of the kicks. The melodies sound really nice, could use more variation and atmosphere, but it sounds decent!
Heading back to kicks, you want a consistent drum loop, like a 4 to the floor beat for example. For this song, I’d recommend putting a kick at the start of the pattern, and half way through, and you could also add a little melody in the kicks like the occasional extra kick that’s 1 beat away from one of the others. I’d also turn down the velocity of the drums as well..

Mainly the problem Is drums in this one, the rest is pretty decent! Keep forth!

LiquidCatOfficial responds:

i agree with the kick being too loud tbh, thanks for your review and i'll try to value the melody and drums better at when needed or not!

It’s a fire beat, and I like the distorted lead that starts off the song! The piano seems out of place in a song like this, the drums could also be a bit louder, I recommend using compression to make it loud, yet still good quality. The long Reese bass also sounds fitting with the entirety of the song. It’s a step up from bird definitely! And I hope you continue trying to make music!

Good work, hope you keep it up!

(EDIT: Also, I wouldn’t consider this cinematic music, it sounds more video game, or rock-ish, maybe change the genre, but that’s up to you lol)

LiquidCatOfficial responds:

thanks for your review! tho the piano is very intentional. i literally made the drums volume 100 there lol, but with the Hardcore effect they sounded bad :( speaking of the reese bass, i didnt even know it existed and just noticed it was there XD (it's also a not-so-old song of mine lol) also yep i'll change the genre! thanks again!
