[Meuny - Kashmir Aurafy]

Very weird! But I kinda like it, not bad.

The use of the distortion is similar to my song -Mountain Skies-, only difference is mines the bass and lead and yours are vocals, they are distorted to sound bad but also good if that makes any sense.

But the true thing I love about this song is the drums, oh those drums are beautiful. I say a good 9.7/10

So, the distortion that you've mentioned doesn't actually exist. It is the way it sounds because of the way it was put into the fruity granulizer. I added some reverb and delay to make it sound better. It think I did a pretty good job making it "listenable" because the raw thing was just unbearable.

Also, a tip:

You can a lot of sample CDs scattered around the internet that contain a ton of drum samples that you can use to make amazing house/IDM tracks. I recommend downloading a couple of those and then mixing some weird percussive sounds you may found scattered around the packs you've got yourself.

Also, never be afraid of experimenting with weird sounds. Sometimes all you need is to start playing around with some pedals until that weird sound either starts to sound like a synth or pad or even a percussive thing.

Some beats are off key at points, but it’s not the worse thing I’ve heard. It even sounds good in some areas

Not sure what you mean by the beat being off key? If you're referring to the percussion, it was an intentional choice for the kick and bass parts to not line up until the first chorus (the kick lines up with the chordal figures instead). I like to push the limits of rhythmic tension in these types of songs because I don't have to worry about real players being able to read the parts, lol.
