Kicks are a bit on the loud side… and is a bit too much, and it sounds like one of the “It’s not my first, but I’m still beginning” songs… if you get that. The kicks are the main focus of the song, sometimes I actually ignore the melody because of the kicks. The melodies sound really nice, could use more variation and atmosphere, but it sounds decent!
Heading back to kicks, you want a consistent drum loop, like a 4 to the floor beat for example. For this song, I’d recommend putting a kick at the start of the pattern, and half way through, and you could also add a little melody in the kicks like the occasional extra kick that’s 1 beat away from one of the others. I’d also turn down the velocity of the drums as well..

Mainly the problem Is drums in this one, the rest is pretty decent! Keep forth!

LiquidCatOfficial responds:

i agree with the kick being too loud tbh, thanks for your review and i'll try to value the melody and drums better at when needed or not!

It’s a fire beat, and I like the distorted lead that starts off the song! The piano seems out of place in a song like this, the drums could also be a bit louder, I recommend using compression to make it loud, yet still good quality. The long Reese bass also sounds fitting with the entirety of the song. It’s a step up from bird definitely! And I hope you continue trying to make music!

Good work, hope you keep it up!

(EDIT: Also, I wouldn’t consider this cinematic music, it sounds more video game, or rock-ish, maybe change the genre, but that’s up to you lol)

LiquidCatOfficial responds:

thanks for your review! tho the piano is very intentional. i literally made the drums volume 100 there lol, but with the Hardcore effect they sounded bad :( speaking of the reese bass, i didnt even know it existed and just noticed it was there XD (it's also a not-so-old song of mine lol) also yep i'll change the genre! thanks again!

Very catchy indeed! You’ve got some good ideas here, though for some weird reason the instruments are a bit on the distorted side, I’m guessing either you added distortion or your mixing needs work.
The sax could use some reverb and possibly a background melody to go along with it. Piano is sounding good other then the distortion noise coming from it. The song could also use a bassline, a very simple one though could sound best for a song like this. The electric piano also sounds cute, and fits in really well! The snare also doesn’t seem to fit for a song like this, but the hats oddly do fit IMO.
Keep it up!
I also recognize a lot of the instruments, do you use the same as my DAW, Fl Studio Mobile?

Also B I R D

LiquidCatOfficial responds:

thanks for your review! yes, i made this using fl studio mobile (not the original), i didnt have access to my pc and made this out of boredom to test if i can make something good in where i didnt make music for like 5 months or so

im gonna release "NULL" soon since I already finished it and got a review on it! once again thanks!

Hey remember my song -paranormal-? Yeah… that was the most horrid drumstep humanity has had the displeasure of listening to. Loving the samples here! And the snares are real punchy! Great work!

G2961 responds:

By the way, this song is pretty good in structure and atmosphere, it just needs some work on mastering (although it's hard to do in FLM)
Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked my song!

A bit too much volume and a lack of mixing, used to make that mistake when I first got into music. I love the melodies before it got low quality at 0:40, only the snares that lead to said part could use some work. I’m especially fond of the bass, I use that bass in my own songs a lot as well :D. It’s important to level your instruments and drums, you want it to be as loud as possible, but not so loud to where it’s impossible to listen to. I love the bass and the chiptune melody tho. Only the drums could use more variety, a less hard hitting snare, and of course, the mixing.

People give FL Mobile a bad rep due to it being so limited, but I tell you this, I have shocked many people with the fact my songs are actually made in Fl mobile… and I know you can too ;) just keep practicing man!

KOEGD responds:

thanks; i am still somewhat new at fl studio mobile so i didnt know much about mixing until your comment
glad you still liked it though :)

Not bad! Not bad at all, just needs some better mixing, I love the melodies you used to make this, and I can hear the old ng style of music with the snares and the bass! Strings could use some reverb and better EQ, and cymbals could be a tad bit quieter. It’s also a bit repetitive in some areas, but other than those minor problems, this is really well made! The only big problem is the mixing, mainly where the cymbals are used. Good work man!

TheGoodDonol responds:

Hey thanks, man! Unfortunately, I used the free trial version of FL Studio to make this, so I really can't go back to my project. I could try remaking the entire thing from scratch if I have the time.

I’d recommend making the piano more on key, it’s also doesn’t have any good transitioning and all the instruments are just horribly tuned.

I’m guessing your new to music? If so, I’ll tell you this… ITS BETTER THEN MY FIRST XD! Unlike my first this actually has a rhythm, a catchy rhythm actually, it just wasn’t put in the best way since you’re still new. Just keep practicing!

DanirplayGD responds:

Thank you. I'm really new to music, and I'm making a second track. Thanks for the feedback, even if it's not positive.

Some beats could be added in to make the song flow better, and some parts have a stop to it if that makes sense. But it is a pretty good vibe! I’m also a fan of the guitar at the start, tho it could be turned down or filtered better to make it fit in a little more. Overall conclusion, it’s one of those songs you just vibe too, like bg music for a stream!

Cute cat pic too!

iamwizard responds:

loosh is a cool cat!
im really not all that proud of this one, i made it one one of those days where you get a ton of musicians block. i mashed random crap together and made it almost work. im glad you like it, and ill definitely take what youve said into account next time. thanks for the compliments!!

thanks for the feature also!

Funkeh! Very funkeh mate!

Love the synths and overall authentic feel to song, 0:32 super sick saw lead, and nice samples are used at the more chill sections like 0:50. Overall I love the vibe, it just is sorta out of rhythm at some parts but when you’re using a keyboard manually that’s basically bound to happen. Funky work dude! Keep this up!

Soultrek responds:

Appreciate you dude!!
