Again! Pretty amazing stuff! Though I feel it could be better mixed. In some areas the piano seems to hard hitting, so I’d recommend turning down the velocity, but as you said this isn’t too mastered and it shows, so I really cant wait to hear the refined version!

It’s probably better since this has way too many instruments panned to one side, which I admit is a pet peeve of mine lol. Seriously good work tho, hope to hear more of this kind of stuff between you two!

wyldfyre1 responds:

Yeah, there's another version of this song that I will add later that isn't as hard hitting but better mastered. This was one of the first versions of this song that we sadly enough didn't end up getting a finished version. Still near and dear to my heart though. As was mentioned in the authors comments: We did these songs many years ago I've long since stopped doing music and just decided to post these songs that were actually being made for a video game at the time which made me NOT post them but the game didn't ever get finished so now they are here for your listening pleasure.

Thanks again for the love! =) You are awesome.

*sniffs* yep, smells like f-777 melodies alright!

I can’t believe I haven’t heard this before, this is so good holy shit! It doesn’t really sound tragic, but rather, aspiring? Sorta like seeing a person you’ve been wanting to meet for so long, like a muse or a role model lol.

Mixing is overall solid, there are some areas such as the transitions at 0:20 that could be improved, not cause the transition itself, but it makes a weird gap, perhaps it’s too compressed. Then the strings at 2:18 just sound the tiniest bit off.

Transitions are amazing, truly a story to behold, it’s also mixed quite well when there’s not that little spike, and the choice of instruments are truly a wonder! Overall in my opinion, a good 9.7/10

I’ve said it thrice and I’ll say it again, this is beautifully made, just some so minor tweaks that could probably be fixed really easily. Congrats on collaborating with f-777, here’s to more songs in the future! And good job to f7 as well of course!

wyldfyre1 responds:

Thanks for the love for sure. Glad you enjoyed it.

Really unique dude! And as a person who loves the unique and absurd, this is no exception! Amazing work, awesome mixing, and just an overall vibe! Of course some things can be changed and improved, but they are so minimal it’s not worth mentioning!

This song is bass’d, YOU are bass’d, and this song is very bass’d, if you think this shit is dumb, then you need to get your ears checked. In fact! Here, check this, it will lead you to the last page of the frontpage suggestions thread ;)

Xukkus responds:

Heyyy thank you so much for the frontpage suggestion man! Glad you enjoyed :)

I say this is more on the experimental side since there’s a ton of effects in the piano, but I enjoy songs with a calming atmos like this. The strings are nicely made, I guess it’s really just panned a bit much to one side and that’s all. It’s a really nice work, and I hope you get whitelisted soon! Best of luck to you!

Strong work, keep it up!

LeitonMusic responds:

Thanks for the feedback, means a lot to me! :3

Starts off cool with the eerie vocals, and the bassy pad, and then the piano kicks in, it’s good but when you reverse it, it makes a weird gap in the song some times 1:03 for example. Shit starts picking up with the DnB loop, and it’s an extremely addicting one at that. Then at 2:33 the quirky synth off sets the entire song, creating a jarred feel, a more slow rise into it would’ve done a ton better, and it was a bit loud for the song mood. I love the punchy snare right up next, since I love a little punch in music. The gap in the piano continues for the whole song, I say that could be fixed. I then like how it ends, and it slowly goes away back into its shallow pale.

Some transitions could use work, but most fit cause the song is so repetitive, it’s mainly that piano gap and the synth you need to work on. Mixing is really well done for the most part, but leveling could be improved.
Overall, strong stuff here! Good work! And keep moving!

DreamSimulator responds:

Yeah, this was not meant to be my greatest song of the season as I have been very sick and just wanted to post before the end of the year. I may redo the song in the future and I appreciate the feedback.

Really well made!

It’s sorta hard to understand the lyrics, but they have a good meaning! Some instruments are also sort of hard to hear, mainly over the bass, it’s a bit to compressed, to the point it blocks some of the other instruments, other then the vocaloid for some reason.

On the other hand, instruments used and the mixing are amazing, and the overall idea is great! Doesn’t really sound like lofi, but hey, still sounds cool!
Funny that my fave part is actually
“ I just want my head to think straight
Can the record please just stop skipping
This song just keeps on repeating,
but it won't take me back to the beginning”
That part I actually replayed a few times lol!

And last of all, I love how the lyrics are never the same, good work! Keep going!

Kinoshita-Crazy responds:

Thank you, and thanks for the feedback, that's really good to know! The vocal synth that's singing, Gumi English V3, is infamous for being a vocal synth that's VERY hard to work with. it's very janky and requires a lot of fine tuning to make pronounce things properly. For example, if you type in "thought," the vocal synth will automatically pronounce the word as "oat."

I appreciate the feedback on the bass, my studio headphones don't get a lot of bass so I do sometimes have a hard time telling whether or not the bass is too loud.

Thank you again and I'm glad you liked it :)

Really cool song! Transitions are good and mixing is pretty decent! I guess it could just use more instruments! Nice work man!… and no I’m not touching grass

ClvrrCleaver responds:

Thanks and I do agree with the instruments lacking... Thinking of releasing a remake of it at some point next year but we'll see

Not bad man! Not bad!

Some synths sound a little bit weird, but that’s really the only problem with the song, it could also be less padded on some of the drums.

Good work!

PryArts responds:

Appreciate the feedback, Creeper :)) I'll assure you the song will be better once the WIP is removed from the title

Really fitting vocals and a very emotional song, especially at the oooo parts. I guess the only thing about the song is that it could use more variety.

For a first song both wrote, produced, and sang by you, this is seriously impressive, it sounds very good, everything is well and clear, even a minimal at times, which in this case is something good! Amazing work my friend, keep it up!

Yokuofficial responds:

Very good feedback! Thank you for the kind words!

Doesn’t really sound like drum n bass, more like a good video game track! But it’s not the genre, it’s whether it’s sick, and lemme tell you… it’s pretty sick!

The only problems I see are the snare transitions… they just don’t sound right, and that’s all that it is, next is the video game vocals, you’d probably need to make them more distorted to suit the vibe of the song, plus just like the snares, it just doesn’t sound right, especially “Game, not over”, although this is a motivating line, it also disrupts the flow, I’d recommend saying “It’s not over yet” instead as a sample, this way it flows much more smoothly.

But on the other hand, the melodies are very classic, yet they also sound familiar! In fact, this entire song reminds me of MDK’s style, without the “Wubstep” as he calls it. You put this in front of me and not tell me who it is, I would’ve probably said MDK. I like how clear all the instruments are and can be heard, from the bass to the pad. The cute chiptune melody arpeggios at the start and end really fit in with making both an outro and intro.

Conclusion, really good piece, it’s just some parts could be improved, as all songs could be! Amazing work, and remember “it’s not over yet” ;)

Edit: the sample parts, it’s not your fault, although it still doesn’t fit, it still just doesn’t flow right, just pointing out a mistake I made, since you didn’t make the samples yourself. Forgive me for my tom foolery. And thank you @nimblegend for the comment, I would have never found out about the mistake I made lol.

TenodiBoris responds:

Thank you for this detailed and elaborative feedback, thats what we(artists) need, rarely people LISTEN to a song nowadays and have time or will to experience it or try to understand what the artist did or wanted to do. Music is unique way to transfer emotion from artist to listener and having someone on other end makes me really really happy. Thank you, cheers!
